The right answer.
Right there in the policy.
Ask a coverage question. Get an answer with the source page, ready for your review. Fine Print IQ helps your team work from your agency’s documents, with the context to make a confident next step.
Your Clients' Data Doesn't Belong in ChatGPT.
Here's the uncomfortable part of "just paste it into ChatGPT": to get an answer, your team types in the client's actual question — names, policy numbers, VINs, addresses, claim details. That PII just left your agency and landed in a consumer tool you don't control, on terms you didn't write.
Fine Print IQ is built the opposite way. Questions and documents stay inside a controlled, access-scoped agency system. Answers come only from your uploaded policies — not the open internet. Every agent sees only the documents assigned to their group, every chat is logged for admins to review, and nothing is shared across agencies or used to train a public model.
Speed is the easy part — any tool can sound fast. The question that actually matters for an agency is whether an answer is sourced, reviewable, and safe to put in front of a client. That's the part we won't compromise on.
Your Agents Shouldn't Spend 15 Minutes Searching for One Answer
Insurance agents waste hours every week digging through policy PDFs to answer client questions — flipping through endorsements, cross-referencing coverage forms, deciphering legal language.
Fine Print IQ lets your team type a question in plain English and get the answer in seconds — with a citation linking to the exact page and paragraph in the source document.
How Fine Print IQ Works
Three steps. No training required. Your team can start asking questions in minutes.
Send Us Your Policies
Send your policy PDFs to Applied AI Partners — coverage forms, endorsements, declarations, conditions. We process digital and scanned pages together, preserve original page numbers, and check for pages with little readable text. Quick Upload flags sparse or blank pages for review.
Ask a Question
Type any question in plain English: "Does this policy cover water damage from a burst pipe?" Fine Print IQ translates your question into formal policy language and searches across relevant documents. Form-number searches also look inside extracted PDF pages to find endorsements printed in policy booklets.
Get a Cited Answer
Watch the answer arrive, then open citations at the exact document and page. Use Stop search to cancel the current answer without saving partial output. Searches in other conversations can keep running while you work.
Get a feel for the workflow.

Cited Answers You Can Trust
Open cited policy wording at the relevant PDF page, with the passage highlighted. Version-linked citations stay attached to the original document through renames and flag changed source files before showing them.
- Green: Grounded in policy text
- Yellow: May include inference
- Orange: Limited policy match
Scenario Analysis
Attach the client’s declarations and describe the loss. Fine Print IQ reads the declarations alongside retrieved policy wording, then shows a structured assessment, cited pages, and facts to verify. Conflicts and missing information are surfaced for clarification. Declarations links identify the exact attachment and remain available for its 24-hour retention period; final coverage decisions still require agent review.
Renewal Difference
Drop in last year's and this year's dec pages and Fine Print IQ flags every change — premium delta, coverage changes, added or removed endorsements, new exclusions — then drafts the client-ready email explaining it. Add the rating factors behind the price (insurance score, experience modifier, paperless / annual-pay / EFT discounts, military status) and changes get highlighted and woven into the explanation, so you walk into the renewal conversation with the "why did my premium go up" answer ready. Every comparison is saved by client for you and your whole team to pull up later, links to the client in your CRM (Producer IQ, Pipedrive, or HubSpot), logs to their timeline, and sends the email right from the comparison screen. Renewal reviews across a big book go from hours to minutes.
Rating & Classification
A dedicated mode for the quoting questions policy forms don't answer: GL and property class codes pulled from your carrier's own classification manuals (cited to the page), NAICS industry codes, and vehicle GVWR / size-class straight from the VIN. Every number is sourced — from your manual, from authoritative public data, or honestly labeled "not available" — never guessed.
Call Mode
Client on the phone? Flip on Call mode and Fine Print IQ answers with just the bottom line — covered or not, the condition that decides it, and the citation — in a fraction of the time a full write-up takes. Same search, same verification, same cited sources; only the answer gets shorter. Toggle it off for the complete breakdown.
Understands Insurance Language
Ask "does it cover water damage?" and Fine Print IQ automatically expands your search to include flood, burst pipes, water backup, sewer overflow, and related policy terms. No need to know the exact legal wording.
Multi-Document Search
Fine Print IQ brings together relevant wording from policies, endorsements, and coverage forms. Open the cited pages to review how a condition or exception changes the rule, and confirm which forms apply to the customer's policy.
Multi-Carrier for Brokerages
Sell for more than one carrier? Brokerage accounts pick their carriers in the admin panel — from Applied AI's managed policy libraries, or by adding a carrier of their own and uploading its forms directly. A carrier picker on the search screen narrows any question to one carrier — a Farm Bureau question gets answered from Farm Bureau forms only, never from another carrier's lookalike form. Search all your carriers at once, or exactly one. Assign each team member every carrier on the account, or just the ones they write.
Built-In Knowledge Base
Bring your SOPs, onboarding documents, training videos, and courses together. Staff can search for cited answers, browse organized libraries, and work through lessons with quizzes and completion tracking. Admins build and preview courses in a focused lesson editor, then publish and assign them to the team.
Managed Setup & Support
Applied AI Partners handles your entire setup — document uploads, user invitations, and ongoing support. You focus on serving clients while we keep Fine Print IQ running smoothly.
Conversation Memory
Ask follow-up questions naturally. "What about if the damage was from a flood?" — Fine Print IQ uses your conversation history for follow-ups. Newly saved answers retain their source and confidence labels when you reopen them.
Gap Tracking
Fine Print IQ logs questions it can't answer confidently, so admins can see what's missing from their document library. Know exactly which policies to upload next.

What Agents Ask Fine Print IQ
During Client Calls
"Does this homeowner's policy cover mold remediation?" — tap the mic and ask hands-free while the client is still on the phone, instead of calling them back later.
Explaining Coverage
"What are the exclusions on this commercial property policy?" — Get a clear summary you can walk the client through, with source references if they want to see the actual language.
Training New Agents
"What's the difference between occurrence and claims-made?" — New agents can learn policy details on demand without pulling a senior agent off their work.
Quote the Right Policy. Every Time.
Fine Print IQ checks cited quotations against retrieved source pages so your team can inspect the supporting wording. A matching quotation does not by itself prove that a summary includes every condition or that coverage applies to a particular customer. Review the full clause, exceptions, and current Declarations before using an answer.
Fine Print IQ v2 was rebuilt around a deterministic citation validator after one of our agencies told us a confidently wrong answer almost cost their team's trust. The validator is the difference between "sounds right" and "is right."
The Expert Behind Every Answer Has a Name: Q
Every answer Fine Print IQ gives you comes from Q — our insurance-literate AI. In Fine Print IQ, Q reads your agency’s entire policy library and answers with cited sources. And Q isn’t only here: it’s built into every Applied AI tool.
Not a bolt-on chatbot. A built-in expert.
Most software bolts on a chatbot that has read a help doc and nothing else — you ask it about your work and it knows nothing about your work. Q is the opposite. Q is an insurance-literate assistant that is already reading the file in front of you: it has the full context before you type a word, answers in plain English a busy agent can use, and points you at the next step.
It is built by people who run insurance agencies, for the way agents actually work — on a call, mid-renewal, prepping for a meeting. Not a robot that knows nothing. An expert that has read the file.
On any policy, ask Q:
- Does this HO-3 cover water backup from a sump-pump failure?
- Summarize this commercial client’s coverage in plain English.
- What changed between last year’s policy and this renewal?

How do I revisit and organize saved research?
Search conversation titles, rename a conversation, or pin it near the top of your history. Load more to reach older conversations. On desktop, drag the sidebar edge to give titles more room. Your width is remembered in this browser; double-click the edge to reset it. Your thumbs-up or thumbs-down rating saves immediately; an optional comment updates the same saved rating.
Does a renewal comparison review every part of a policy?
It compares the text extracted from the two files you supply. The result warns when either document exceeds the input limit and identifies which side was shortened. The review scope stays with the saved comparison, copied email draft, and CRM note. Extraction can miss scanned content or attachments, so review the complete issued documents before relying on the comparison.
Can I save policy research to a client in my CRM?
Yes. Connect Producer IQ, Pipedrive, or HubSpot in Settings, open a saved conversation, and choose Link client / save research. Select the client and review the exact question, answer, and source excerpts before saving a note to their CRM timeline. The note includes a sign-in link back to the saved research and PDF sources. You can also copy an answer with its source references. Linking a client does not automatically send a note or email.
How can I get a more precise policy answer?
Name the carrier, form number and edition when you know them. Ask for the specific rule, its conditions, exceptions and limit rather than a bare yes or no. Open the cited PDF to review the complete clause, and use the customer's issued Declarations and endorsements to confirm which terms apply.
What types of documents can Fine Print IQ search?
Fine Print IQ works with any PDF insurance document — coverage forms, endorsements, policy declarations, common policy conditions, and more. It checks each page for readable text and uses OCR on sparse pages, including scans mixed into digital PDFs. Original page numbers stay attached to the extracted text. Poor-quality scans may still need a clearer source.
How accurate are Fine Print IQ's answers?
Fine Print IQ distinguishes answers based on policy sources from general industry knowledge, with confidence labels and citations to help you review the wording. Newly saved answers retain their original source and confidence labels when reopened. Older answers without recorded provenance are clearly labeled. Always review the cited conditions and exceptions before relying on a coverage conclusion.
Why not just use ChatGPT for policy questions?
Fine Print IQ pairs answers with passages from your agency's policy library so your team can verify the wording. Cited quotations are checked against the retrieved pages. Expand a source card to read all saved cited passages, then choose a cited page to open the PDF with matching text highlighted. Keep the answer beside the PDF on desktop or switch between them on mobile. Zoom, find text across pages, select readable text to copy, or open the original document. Printed page labels appear when the PDF supplies them. Escape returns to the answer. Scanned pages without a text layer may not support text search or selection. Version-linked citations identify the original document even after a rename and flag changed source content before displaying it. Your agency shares a managed library with document access controls and an admin audit trail. Agents should still review the controlling conditions and exceptions before relying on a coverage conclusion.
Is Fine Print IQ secure for sensitive insurance documents?
Yes. Fine Print IQ uses role-based access control so agents only see documents assigned to their group. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Documents are stored securely and never shared across agencies.
How long does it take to set up Fine Print IQ?
Most agencies are up and running within a day. Send your policy PDFs to Applied AI Partners, accept your invites, and start asking questions. No complex integrations or IT support required.
Can different teams see different policy documents?
Yes. Admins can create groups and assign specific documents to each group. Personal lines agents see personal lines policies, commercial agents see commercial policies — fully configurable.
What happens if Fine Print IQ can't find the answer in your documents?
Your agent isn't dead-ended on the call. Fine Print IQ gives a senior-P&C-style answer behind a clear "outside your uploaded policy documents" banner — so the agent has something useful to say to the client, without any chance of a fabricated carrier-specific citation. The question is also logged in the gap report so admins can see what's missing from the document library and know which policies to upload next.
What is the Knowledge Base tab?
Your agency’s training workspace for SOPs, documents, videos, and courses. Staff can ask plain-English questions with cited answers, browse documents by folder, find text within a document, and watch training videos in place. Admins build courses from those materials, preview lessons, add quizzes, and assign training. Learners can filter their courses, continue unfinished lessons, and track completion.
What is Q, and how is it different from a chatbot?
Q is the AI assistant built into every Applied AI tool. Unlike a bolt-on website chatbot that only knows a help article, Q already has the full context of whatever you're working on and answers as an insurance-literate assistant — in plain English an agent can use on a call. In Fine Print IQ, Q reads your agency's policy library and answers coverage questions with cited sources. The same Q rides along in Debrief IQ (on recorded meetings), Usher IQ (on website conversations), and Producer IQ (on client records) — one expert across the whole suite, so your team learns it once and has it everywhere.
